The story behind Silver Canyon

AI agents. Now for 3D.

Silver Canyon started in 2022 in a small office in Nagoya's Sakae district, where Shun Matsumoto had spent the previous four years building procedural geometry tools for a mid-size game studio. The frustration was always the same: artists with strong ideas spent most of their day fighting software rather than making things. The first internal prototype ran on a single GPU workstation and could only produce low-poly rocks. The team called it 'the pebble machine' and kept it running through the night.

The real turning point came in the spring of 2023, when a local product design firm asked whether the tool could handle consumer electronics concepts. It could not, at the time. Shun spent three months rewriting the geometry pipeline to handle hard-surface objects with clean edge loops and accurate proportions. That version shipped to the design firm in August 2023 and the feedback was direct: it saved their team roughly two days per product cycle. That specific result shaped every subsequent development decision.

About

A bit more

Today Silver Canyon serves game studios, independent makers, and product teams across Japan. The platform runs on infrastructure hosted in the Tokyo region, keeping latency low and data residency within Japan. The team is still small, seven people as of summer 2026, and every major feature decision still goes through a working prototype before it reaches users. The contact address is in Nagoya because that is where the work started, and that is where it continues.

How text-to-3D generation actually works in 2026

Most explanations of text-to-3D generation skip the middle part. They show a prompt going in and a mesh coming out, which is accurate but not particularly useful if you are trying to understand why a specific prompt produced unexpected geometry or why the texture defaulted to something generic. This article walks through each stage of the pipeline as it runs inside Silver Canyon.

Our products

What the agent does

Text-to-3D Generation

Type a description in English or Japanese and receive a fully textured mesh within two to four minutes. The agent handles topology, UV mapping, and PBR material assignment automatically.

Image-to-3D Conversion

Upload a reference photo, concept sketch, or product render. The agent reconstructs geometry from a single image, producing a watertight mesh ready for rigging or printing.

AI Texture Painting

Generate, tileable textures for any surface style. Weathered concrete, lacquered wood, brushed titanium. Textures export as 2K or 4K PNG sets compatible with Unity, Unreal, and Blender.

The hands behind it

Shun Matsumoto
Founder, Established since 2022

Shun Matsumoto

Shun Matsumoto studied information engineering at Nagoya University, graduating in 2014, then spent four years at a mid-size game studio in Sakae building procedural geometry tools and shader pipelines. He left in 2018 to consult independently for product design firms across the Chubu region, which is where he first encountered the gap between what designers could imagine and what they could model in a reasonable timeframe. He founded Silver Canyon in 2022. Outside the office he restores vintage synthesizers and occasionally teaches a weekend workshop on generative art at a community space near Fushimi station.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?

No credit card is required for the first fourteen days. You sign up with an email address, get access to the full feature set, and only enter payment details if you decide to continue after the trial ends. There are no automatic charges during the trial period.

Can I use Japanese-language prompts, or do I need to write in English?

Japanese-language prompts have been supported since the platform launched in 2022. You can write your description entirely in Japanese, mix Japanese and English, or use English only. The agent processes all three equally well. Technical terms like 'PBR texture' or 'low-poly' work in either language.
